Car insurance and damage solutions - FAQ
Answer:
Yes. All our cars are fully insured, including mandatory third-party liability insurance and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). The CDW excess (your participation) is up to CZK 6,050, or 5% if the total damage exceeds CZK 100,000. The excess is charged only if the damage occurs during your rental and is caused by you, an unknown offender (e.g., hit-and-run), or a natural event (e.g., storm or hail). Please note that tyres and alloy (ALU) wheels are not covered by the insurance.Answer:
Yes. All our cars are insured for travel across the EU (including Switzerland); the only exceptions are Bulgaria and Romania, where the insurance coverage does not apply.Answer:
Unfortunately not. Tyres and wheels are not covered by the insurance; however, in most cases their cost is lower than the insurance excess. If damage occurs, we assess it based on the current price of a new wheel or tyre listed on the manufacturer’s official website.Answer:
In any accident, you always must call the police for your own protection, especially if the other party later disputes what happened. You must call the police if the damage exceeds CZK 200,000, if there is any damage to third-party or public property, or if anyone is injured. After securing the scene, please also call our infoline at +420 775 592 097 and our team will guide you through the next steps and provide assistance.Answer:
In these cases, your excess (participation) is up to CZK 6,050, or 5% if the total damage exceeds CZK 100,000, and it applies only when the damage was caused by you, an unknown offender (e.g., hit-and-run), or a natural event. Tyres and alloy (ALU) wheels are not covered by the insurance. If the windscreen is damaged, your contribution is CZK 2,500. For minor damage, we always try to keep your charge as low as possible based on the actual repair cost.Answer:
We always handle damages individually, depending on the type and extent of the damage, and we aim to resolve each case fairly and as simply as possible for you.Answer:
You are entitled to a substitute vehicle in the Czech Republic if the car becomes undriveable due to a technical issue or an accident that was not caused by you (in case of an accident, this must be confirmed by a police report). The substitute vehicle can be provided within a maximum of 2 days from the moment we are informed about the issue. If the technical problem is caused by your fault, all repair costs will be charged to you. If the damage is caused by you or by an unknown offender, you are not automatically entitled to a substitute car; however, we can usually offer a replacement vehicle under very favourable conditions. For incidents outside the Czech Republic, we cannot provide a substitute vehicle, but your rental includes prepaid roadside assistance from the insurance company, which is available internationally.Answer:
If an accident happens abroad, please call the local police first and contact us immediately as well, so we can guide you and agree on the next steps together. Our cars are insured abroad, but claim settlement is typically based on Czech repair cost rates under the insurance terms, which means the insurer may cover damages only up to the amount that the same repair would cost in the Czech Republic; any difference in local pricing could therefore be additional. For this reason, it is often more economical to tow the vehicle back to the Czech Republic and arrange the repair here to avoid unexpected extra costs. In all cases, please contact us as soon as possible—we will help you choose the safest and most cost-effective solution based on the specific situation.
